A former police chief superintendent turned life coach is hoping to inspire others to make a positive change in 2019 at a conference in Derby today.
Kul Mahay retired from the force in 2015 after spending 32 years with Derbyshire Constabulary. At one point in his career, Kul was one of the most senior Asian police officers in the UK.
The 52-year-old, who lives in Derby, has built himself a new career as a leadership coach, trainer and motivational speaker. He also wrote a book – titled Smash the Habit – published in 2016, explaining how he has overcome all sorts of habits himself, from stopping smoking and drinking to giving up tea and coffee.
Two years ago he set up Ignite Your Inner Potential; working with leaders and companies encouraging them to think about the power of creating people-centred cultures.
He said: “This was always a dream of mine to create a ripple effect of positive mindset across the UK and to think we have international attendees this year is simply unbelievable.”
